✦Description of Geosynthetics in Highway Engineerings-Woven Geotextiles
Woven geotextile is composed of two groups of silk or flat strip shuttle woven fabric, varieties of single-layer woven geotextile (also known as geofilter cloth), double-layer geotextile (also known as geomold bag cloth) and woven impermeable cloth. The raw materials of woven geotextiles are mainly polypropylene flat silk woven fabric, supplemented by nylon high strength woven fabric, the width is more than 3800mm, and the specifications are mostly 120-150g/m2 fabric, and 200-500g/m2 fabric can be selected for high engineering requirements.
Woven geotextile is a kind of geosynthetic material with large amount, wide use, simple construction and low price. Its most commonly used function is as a wrapping material that is sewn into woven bags, filled with sand, stone, soil materials, made of soil pillows or soil bags of different sizes as fillers or weights, used for flood control or temporary support projects. In some areas of China, there will also be spun geotextile made of geotextile bag, geotextile bag fabric is soft, the use of high pressure pump filled with liquid concrete or cement mortar, after solidification to form a high strength rigid plate, can adapt to any complex slope shape, terrain changes and soil conditions, for large area slope protection or as soil surface lining and underwater protection bottom, it can play the role of template.
High quality fabrics can also play a reinforcing role in some reinforcement projects. In addition, it also has a certain reinforcement and isolation function, and the textile coated with plastic can play a temporary anti-seepage role. There is also a kind of warp knitted geotextile, it is the use of a thinner warp knitted line at the intersection of the longitude and latitude lines tied together to form a firm node, so that it has a higher tensile strength and a smaller extension, in the special needs of the part.
✦Advantages of Geosynthetics in Highway Engineerings-Woven Geotextiles
Highway engineering geosynthetic materials have the characteristics and advantages of spinning geotextiles
The tensile strength and modulus of woven geotextiles are large, and the fracture elongation is small, and it has a good stress-strain relationship.
The warp and weft of woven geotextiles squeeze each other, preventing the deformation of the fabric under external force, so the structure of woven geotextiles is generally relatively stable.
The woven geotextile pore size is large, and the screen formed by the interweaving of warp and weft has a minimum gap of 0.05mm. Due to the large hole, if used for filtration, the small sand is easy to lose, after long-term filtration, the mesh is easy to block.
Woven geotextile roof breaking strength is low, small fracture work.
Woven geotextile production process is complex, low output, high cost.

This product flyer is intended for reference purposes. It should not be used in place of the advice from a licensed Professional Engineer. Nominal pressure (PN) is based on C = 1,25 and an operating temperature of 20°C. Weight is calculated using DN and Minimum wall plus 6% for use in estimating fluid flow. Actual ID will vary. When designing components to fit the pipe ID, refer to pipe dimensions and tolerances in the applicable pipe manufacturing specification. To obtain pressure in psi, multiply bar by 14.5 (1 bar ≈ 14.5 psi). Additional information is available at www.bingopipes.com.
