✦Description of two-color geomembrane

Two-color geomembranes are commonly black-green and black-blue. How are blue and green geomembranes made? Theoretically, when the actual user designs, one side is usually black and the other side is green, or one side is black and the other side is blue. In addition, there are cases where both sides are colored and used in special projects. Here we call them black-green and black-blue. Special masterbatch raw materials and UV-resistant carbon black are added during the production process, which are very durable and durable.

Generally, it is designed for the closure or temporary closure of landfills and waste landfills. If it is a black-green anti-seepage membrane, it includes a black anti-seepage membrane with carbon black and another green anti-seepage membrane. The green side should be laid upward in the closure; if it is a black-blue anti-seepage membrane, the blue side should be facing upward. Why should the colored side face up? Because it is used in temporary closure, the blue and green sides face up for aesthetic effect, replacing green vegetation. At the same time, it does not absorb heat like black, and its surface temperature will not be too high, so that it will not produce more wrinkles, and it is more durable and has a longer service life. Of course, the blue and green geomembranes are made of special masterbatches, which will not fade. Because under the sun, the temperature will not be too high, causing the foundation water to evaporate too quickly and cause cracks.

Black-green geomembranes are often used in landfill closures and rainwater and sewage diversion projects. The specifications are usually 0.75mm, 0.8mm, and 1.0mm. Because the green side is covered with a beautiful bird’s-eye view in the air, the green color matches the natural environment, making the landfill and the surrounding green plants integrated. So it is the main reason for its frequent use in projects.

It is laid with the black side facing down and the green side facing up, and the effect is beautiful. The green masterbatch requires anti-aging, requires the addition of sufficient antioxidants and light stabilizers, and the product can be exposed to the sun for more than five years, which is conducive to the drainage of rainwater and the prevention of odor volatilization. The black side faces down, it has a strong heat absorption capacity, can effectively reduce the evaporation of underground water, prevent rainwater from infiltrating into the landfill, increase the service life, and reduce the cost of leachate treatment.

✦Advantages and characteristics of two-color black-green geomembrane
  • The green surface of the black-green two-color geomembrane has high requirements for raw materials. Only high-quality raw materials and more professional production technology can produce green surfaces. Recycled materials with mixed materials and low quality cannot produce black-green two-color geomembranes. Therefore, the production of black-green two-color geomembranes must be made of new materials or first-class white materials.
  • Because black-green two-color geomembranes can only be produced with new materials or first-class white materials, the raw materials ensure the product quality of black two-color geomembranes. Therefore, the quality of black-green two-color geomembranes is generally higher than or equal to that of black geomembranes of the same specifications. Black-green two-color geomembranes generally implement the urban construction CJ/T234-2006 standard.
  • The appearance of black-green two-color geomembranes is smooth and shiny without obvious granular impurities. High-quality black-green two-color geomembranes not only have good anti-sun and anti-aging capabilities, but also have the characteristics of environmental protection and beauty. Therefore, black-green two-color geomembranes are often used in the covering and sealing of landfills.
  • Due to the principle of heat absorption of black, although completely black geomembranes have good anti-aging and sun resistance, the heat absorption characteristics of black will more or less affect the service life of black geomembranes. On the premise of ensuring anti-aging and sun resistance, the green side of black and green two-color geomembranes also reduces the heat absorption capacity of geomembranes, greatly extending the service life of geomembranes. Therefore, black and green geomembranes are common materials in landfill closure and rainwater and sewage diversion projects. Its welding construction should also follow the process requirements of geomembrane welding like black geomembranes.
  • During the laying of HDPE black and green geomembranes, artificial wrinkles should be avoided as much as possible. When laying HDPE geomembranes, the expansion and contraction caused by temperature changes should be reserved according to the local temperature change range and the performance requirements of HDPE geomembranes. In addition, the expansion and contraction of geomembranes should be reserved according to the site terrain and the laying of geomembranes to adapt to the uneven settlement of the foundation.
