Warp-knitted Composite Geotextiles

Warp-knitted composite geotextiles are advanced materials designed for use in a variety of geotechnical applications, combining the benefits of woven or knitted fabrics with the durability and flexibility of non-woven geotextiles. These geotextiles are typically made by reinforcing non-woven fabrics with high-strength fibers such as glass fibers, polyester, or other synthetic materials. The reinforcement is often achieved through a warp-knitting process, a technique where fibers are interlaced in a specific pattern to provide enhanced mechanical strength.

Description of Warp-knitted Composite Geotextiles

The production process of warp-knitted composite geotextile is a complex and delicate process involving multiple key steps and multiple raw materials. After the warping process, the polyester yarns are straightened and arranged in parallel, and then the lining yarns (lining warp yarns and lining weft yarns) are tied to the non-woven geotextile through the weaving yarn using the warp knitting technology to form a warp knitted biaxial structure. This structure has excellent mechanical properties such as high tensile strength, high modulus, creep resistance, and high tear strength.

The warp knitted biaxial structure is then compounded with the non-woven geotextile to solve the problems of low relative strength, large elongation at break, and poor dimensional stability of the non-woven geotextile. During the compounding process, the lining yarns are straightened in parallel in the longitudinal and transverse directions of the geotextile, and the weaving yarns tie them together with the non-woven geotextile to form a strong composite structure.

In order to improve the composite effect, some subsequent processing procedures can also be added, such as the coating process using a coating machine to adopt a tentering shaping process to apply a layer of emulsified asphalt coating to enhance the wear resistance and corrosion resistance of the geotextile. It is usually used in reinforcement, filtration and other fields where ordinary geotextiles cannot meet the requirements. Warp-knitted composite geotextile is a new type of composite material.

Advantages of Warp-knitted Composite Geotextiles:
1. Warp-knitted composite geotextiles usually have high physical and mechanical performance indicators such as tensile strength, tear resistance, and bursting resistance
2. High strength, good elongation, and large deformation modulus
3. Acid and alkali resistance, corrosion resistance, aging resistance, and good anti-seepage performance
4. High quality and low price, having good economic benefits

Application

Applications of Warp-knitted Composite Geotextiles:

Warp-knitted composite geotextile is a geosynthetic material with a wide range of applications and significant functional characteristics. Warp-knitted composite geotextile is mainly used for dam reinforcement and drainage, anti-filtration, homogenization of base stress, prevention of foundation deformation and cushion clogging, and it can also accelerate consolidation and drainage, improving the stability of foundation strength. In addition, warp-knitted composite geotextile is also used to strengthen slope fill to improve stability, and is used in tunnels, pools, water level changes, soil loss, underground pipe drainage and other scenarios
